The First EPDs of VILPE Products Have Been Published

It is now easier for customers to assess the environmental friendliness of products with the help of EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) calculations. The first EPD calculations have been completed for VILPE’s Croco and Power A fasteners, as well as the NV Distance Piece.

The EPD calculations are published on the epdhub website, where everyone can access them. The calculations are always verified by a third party.

The goal of the construction product industry is to have EPDs for 40% of the best-selling products by 2025. VILPE’s goal is more ambitious, aiming to have complete EPD data for their entire product range by spring 2025.

Comprehensive overview of environmental impacts
EPD calculations consider the entire environmental impact of a product. This includes, for example, raw material procurement, transportation, production, usage, and disposal. Therefore, an EPD is broader than just a carbon footprint or life cycle assessment.

EPD calculations benefit VILPE, for whom environmental friendliness is an important value. The calculations help identify ways VILPE can manufacture even more environmentally friendly products, such as by minimizing transportation distances. Additionally, environmental impacts can be reduced by choosing suitable raw materials and packaging materials.
