Developing Smart Building Product Solutions to Suit Export Markets

VILPE’s project, Developing smart building product solutions to suit export markets, aims to promote the export of VILPE Sense smart products. The project is co-funded by the European Union.
From Ostrobothnia to the world
The project focuses on adapting the VILPE Sense product family for export markets, particularly in Europe and North America. One of the key objectives is to assess how well VILPE Sense products are compatible with roofing structures used abroad. To support export efforts, the project will investigate the compatibility of insulation materials commonly used in different markets with VILPE Sense products.
VILPE is especially targeting the U.S. market, where specific tests and certifications are required to obtain sales authorisation. The project includes research on necessary actions and product modifications, as well as the tests and approval processes needed for certification. These studies are crucial for export success. Interest in VILPE Sense has been significant in the U.S., making this project highly timely.
VILPE Sense keeps structures healthy
The VILPE Sense moisture management system is a Finnish innovation designed for smart, demand-contolled ventilation of building structures. The system includes sensors that measure humidity and temperature of indoor and outdoor air. Based on this data, the system controls a roof fan to ventilate structures efficiently and at the right time, ensuring they stay dry and healthy.
The VILPE Sense product family also includes leak detectors that help locate leaks in roof structures or walls. These products alert users to potential moisture issues in building structures and provide real-time data on structural conditions. By preventing minor leaks from escalating into major, costly moisture damage, VILPE Sense saves time and money.
