VILPE participated in the SelectUSA event

Representatives from VILPE visited the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Maryland during the first week of May. They attended the event as part of the Finnish Embassy delegation to the United States, and the delegation included a total of 13 Finnish companies. The purpose of the trip was to initiate discussions with different U.S. states regarding VILPE’s upcoming factory investment in the United States.
One of the highlights of the visit was that VILPE’s CEO Tuomas Saikkonen had the opportunity to attend a seminar featuring U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick as a speaker. The overall SelectUSA event hosted 5,500 attendees, of whom only 200 were invited to the seminar. Out of these 200 guests, only three were Finnish.

“At the moment, we are committed to a seven-million-dollar investment for expanding into the United States. In addition, we are currently negotiating a 15–20-million-dollar factory investment to start production in the U.S. This investment will be carried out if our sales in the United States develop according to — or faster than — our budget expectations. Altogether, by 2035 the total value of our U.S. investments could rise to as much as 90 million dollars if we expand in the market according to our plans,” says Saikkonen.
