VILPE took part in Taisto, Finland’s largest cyber and digital security exercise, on November 13th, 2025. Taisto is a nationwide exercise that provides a safe opportunity to practice, test and develop digital security, as well as to build skills and confidence that can be relied upon in possible real-life situations.

Participating in exercises such as Taisto is one way to maintain VILPE’s readiness to respond to unexpected situations. The lessons learned support company’s long-term work in strengthening cybersecurity, while also helping to ensure that VILPE’s operational capability remains intact even under exceptional circumstances.

“We participated for the first time in an exercise focused solely on cybersecurity. The Taisto exercise was successful. Our goal was to test our current procedures and gain insights to further develop our cyber and digital security. It is important to prepare for real threats through training, which allows us to safely simulate conditions that are as close to real threat scenarios as possible,” says VILPE’s Production Director, Harri Heiskanen.

Themes: Critical vulnerabilities and online fraud

The digital operating environment is continuously evolving, and new threats emerge at the same pace. Preparing for disruptions is an investment, both financially and from a human perspective. Preparedness safeguards the future. Taisto offered VILPE an opportunity to test our digital security processes, identify areas for improvement, and practice responding in disruption scenarios within a safe yet realistic training environment.

Taisto exercise
  • Organised for the 8th time.
  • Involved hundreds of organisations from different sectors of society.
  • Helps improve the management, governance and communication of cyber and digital security.
  • Strengthens the resilience of society, as we build a digitally secure society together by being prepared.
