Information about Covid-19

Updated on June 5th, 2020

This year we have monitored the COVID-19 situation closely and we took numerous actions to promote hygiene and social distancing at our workplace. This decision turned out to be a good one, as VILPE production and warehouse have been able to operate as normally as possible during these exceptional times.

During the summer, we will continue distance working and preventing the spread of COVID-19. As our headquarters and production facility are located in Vaasa, Finland, we are following all the recommendations and instructions provided by the Finnish governmental and health officials in addition to local expert guidelines.

As the Finnish society is slowly returning to normal, some restrictions will no longer be needed at VILPE. Essentials business trips are allowed starting June the 1st. Sales representatives can meet customers in person if this is possible and reasonable. However, we still recommend online meetings, such as Teams meetings

Logistics, material and components

Availability of materials and components have been relatively stable this spring and we believe this situation will continue. We follow the situation closely and inform our customers immediately if there is any shortage of raw materials or any disruptions to logistics. For now, logistics of our products have not been affected.

Supporting others during the crisis

During the crisis this spring, we wanted to do our share to support our local community. For example, we participated in a campaign that delivered pizza gift cards to families in need and we also made a 5000-euro donation to the organization Save the Children. Another concrete action we did was to support the seven companies, which have rented business premises in VILPE headquarters. During April and May they did not have to pay any rent.

We want to keep our commitments to our customers and partners as well as keep the financial situation of our workforce stable. For these reasons, we are operating as described above. The health and safety of our partners and employees are still our number one priority.
